Anyways, here's a recent photo of my cousin Maria, who is from Australia, but is teaching English in Okayama where I will be staying. The other people in the photo are my Uncle George, my Aunt Hilda, my other cousin Louise, and their grandfather. It has been about 9 years since I last saw them, so recieving this picture from her was a real shock. Not only do they look completely different, but they're all grown up! I wonder how it will be different this time around compared to when I met them in 1997. During that time, they stayed with us for about 2 weeks, but I got to know them real well. It probably won't be the same as it was back then, but when stay with Maria this coming April/May, I hope that closeness we had back then is still there. It would be awkward to hang with Maria and totally not get along with her. With 3 full weeks with her, I hope we can easily communicate. The one thing I'm looking forward to is talking with her and catching up on things!

Getting extremely excited
Yes indeed, my trip to Japan is coming up real quickly. I have just over a month to wait before I step onto that plane and leave home, on my own, for 3 weeks. This is the first time I'll have ever travelled by myself, but I'll be staying with my cousin from Australia for the bulk of the time. At this point, the goal of my trip is to sightsee and to relax. A lot of people want me to do some shopping, but I really don't think I will... I'm not a big shopper in general, and I don't have much money to spend anyways. The time with Maria and the sightseeing is good enough for me.
