Okay, ladies and gentlmen. We have reached the mid-year review. Last year, it was M. Night Shamalayan's "The Lady in the Water" for my favorite movie of 2006. This year, thus far, it is none other than 28 weeks Later.Set in the UK, seven months after the rage virus has annihilated the British isles, the US army declares that the war against infection has been won, and that the reconstruction of the country can begin. In the first wave of returning refugees, a family is reunited--but one of them unwillingly carries a terrible secret. The virus is not yet dead, and this time, it is more dangerous than ever.
This film had everything I was looking for in a horror movie, and you all know how much I love my horror movies. It had great action, great suspense, some good acting, a great plot, and some "eew gross" and "omg thats so cool" moments. Altogether, this movie isn't the best I've seen in 2007 (Academy Award wise), but it certainly is the most entertaining. If you haven't had the chance to go see it, please do. It's worth every penny.
