Via Winston's reflection:
We had a debate this week regarding the very interesting topic that many Christians still debate over no matter what age they are in. Our purpose is to hopefully get the class involve and be more comfortable with one another in sharing their views on something of themselves.
Is it ok to date non-Christians?
I like the fact that Chris spent some time in splitting up the teams prior the start of the lesson
.
On the NO side:
Vincent, Terrence, Jeff, Erica and Eddie are in one team, I was there sititng with them just to guide them towards some points and they can elaborate on. Terrence really wanted to be on the YES side. But then later, he came up with quite a few important points on why dating a non-Christian is not a good idea.
On the YES side:
Oscar, Jacob, Maggie and Jonathan. Chris, maybe you can elaborate.
It went well. Every student was extremely interested in the topic and we summarized a bit at the end. The students also took a few points from the Bible to backup their points. The conclusion is that the Bible does not mandate people to date Christian, but dating a Christian will make it easier for the both to grow towards God.
To improve on:
Yesterday, we (Chris, Erica and Winston) question ourselves to see if we need to be more structured and provide the students with more Biblical information. Maybe we should bring in more information and facts so students can take home with them.
